Marta Ferreira joined VCA in May 2026 as a Trainee Lawyer, currently completing her Bar training with the Portuguese Bar Association. She supports multiple departments, with a particular focus on Tax and Corporate Law.
Before joining VCA, Marta built a strong foundation in tax consulting at two of the Big Four. At KPMG, she worked in indirect taxation — covering VAT, property transfer tax (IMT), municipal property tax (IMI), and additional property tax (AIMI) — with a particular focus on audits related to the Angolan tax system. She then moved to PwC, where she specialised in stamp duty within the Corporate Financial Services practice, deepening her expertise in corporate taxation and tax risk management. More recently, she contributed to an international project on the automatic exchange of information under DAC 8, gaining hands-on experience in global compliance and international reporting.
Marta holds a Master’s degree in Financial and Tax Law from the University of Lisbon, complementing her practical experience with a solid academic grounding in the areas she works in. Outside of work, she is an avid runner and swimmer — essentially anything involving water — and a dedicated gardener with a collection of six bonsai trees, each over twelve years old.
