On 30 October 2023, Notice no. 20980-A/2023 was published by the National Statistics Institute, which set forth that the annual update coefficient for the various types of lease, to be in force in the calendar year 2024, is 1.0694.
As a result of this coefficient, rents can be increased by 6.94% in 2024.
In this context, we would also like to remind you that, under the terms of Article 1077(2)(d) of the Civil Code, landlords who have not updated the rent for previous years may still apply the coefficients for the respective years, provided that no more than three years have passed since the date on which their application would have been initially possible.
